Determining the Spatio-Temporal Dynamics of Land Cover along with Some Socio-Economic Factors in the Olur Planning Unit (Turkey)

Because forest cover changes directly affect the sustainability of value, they should be observed carefully. This study analyzed spatial and temporal pattern land use/land change (LULCC) along with effects some socio-economic factors such as crime rates, rural population change, annual gross national product (GNP) on spatiotemporal dynamics between 1970 2015 in Olur planning unit using ArcGIS software Patch Analyst extension.The results showed that high areas increased by 47.14% 2015. Coppice stands completely transitioned to other types due changing management policy case area. Based landscape pattern, total number patches (NP) 50.07%, mean patch size (MPS) decreased 31.88% during period. Results indicated ecosystem became more sensitive it turned into a spatially fragmented structure, making continued efforts maintain biodiversity insure challenge.
